Earlier this month we had the pleasure of exhibiting at RE+ in Anaheim along with Signature Solar, more than a thousand of other exhibitors, and close to 40,000 attendees. As the largest and most comprehensive clean energy industry event in North America, RE+ never disappoints.
This year was extra special for us because we were unveiling Artemis–the fastest, customer-first solar platform. We designed Artemis for agile solar companies who want to reach new audiences, grow revenue, and grow their offerings. Some of our software’s most compelling capabilities include generating accurate, 3D-rendered solar designs in less than ten seconds, side-by-side finance comparisons for homeowners, and beginning-to-end fulfillment.
We were thrilled to share a booth with Signature Solar, an online retailer that provides solar panels, off-grid solar system kits, solar components, and mounting solutions to homeowners across the country. They’ve recently embedded Artemis on their website so that their shoppers have a more seamless solar purchasing experience from start to finish.
While most of our time at RE+ was spent sharing Artemis with fellow exhibitors and attendees, we made sure to walk around and get a feel for what’s new and noteworthy in solar.
From solar panels packing even more power to improved racking technology, there’s a whole lot to look forward to in the coming year.
It’s looking like solar panels are about to get even more powerful. This means that homeowners will need to buy fewer solar panels and that they can better optimize the available space on their roof. Theoretically, this might mean getting the same amount of power in eight solar panels than you get in ten panels right now.
We were so impressed by the storage companies exhibiting at this year’s event and are looking forward to homeowners having access to more affordable energy storage solutions. Energy storage is so important to gaining energy independence and rarely needing to rely on your area’s local grid.
Racking technology is also becoming more efficient, which means solar installations will be easier and have quicker turnarounds than they do right now. New innovations in racking design are so important because they are what keep solar panels securely in place.
From what we gleaned from the conference, it’s looking like re-powering your existing solar system will be both easy and cost-effective. Considering that close to 90% of solar panels are not recycled in the United States, being able to re-power an existing system rather than buying all new panels will do wonders for the environment.
While it’s no secret that the solar industry is facing a challenging time, solar power is still the fastest-growing economy in the nation and the fastest-growing renewable energy source. Solar growth is slowing down but the demand is there, and we’re hopeful that the industry as a whole can power though (no pun intended).
That’s a wrap! See you next year.
