2023 was one heck of a year for the U.S. solar market. According to a recent industry report, solar accounted for 45% of all new electricity-generating capacity added to the U.S. grid in the first half of the year. This speaks to a larger trend toward sustainability in general; something that was present before the pandemic, but greatly accelerated post-pandemic. In fact, a Pew Research Center survey found that 8% of U.S. homeowners have already installed solar panels, and an additional 39% of those surveyed are seriously considering making the switch.
